The COIN Wallet

A tour of the COIN Wallet

One app does it all. It holds your coins, runs your own node, mines and proves payments. Here's where to find everything.

The wallet's menuDown the left-hand side
  • AccountYour balance, and how much of it you can spend right now.
  • SendPay an address. How to send
  • Address bookThe addresses you pay often, with names.
  • ReceiveYour addresses, QR codes and payment requests.
  • TransactionsEvery payment in and out, with payment proofs.
  • AdvancedMining, Prove/check, Shared RingDB and Sign/verify.
  • SettingsYour seed and keys, your node, the look of the app and more.

Advanced appears when the wallet is in Advanced mode, the mode that runs your own node. Choose it when you set the wallet up.

Your balance

Account shows two numbers: your total balance, and the unlocked part you can spend now. New coins, including the change from your own payments, unlock after 10 blocks, about 20 minutes.

You can also split one wallet into separate accounts, each with its own balance and addresses. Press Create new account. One seed backs up every account.

Your node

The wallet runs its own full node in the background. The corner of the window shows whether it's syncing or connected. Settings > Node is where you can stop and start it, move the blockchain to another drive or switch to a remote node. Your own full node »

Advanced: the command-line wallet and the wallet RPC server

The downloads also include a command-line wallet, for people who prefer a terminal, and the wallet RPC server, which lets other programs such as a shop's checkout use a wallet. Each guide on this site has a section like this one with the matching commands.

In the command-line wallet, type help to list every command, or help COMMAND for details about one.
