Every coin is equal
Money only works if every coin is worth the same as every other. On Coin, no coin carries a history that could make it worth less.
The trouble with traceable coins
On a transparent blockchain, every coin carries its whole history. Coins that once passed through a hacked exchange or a blacklisted address can be flagged, and whoever holds them later can find them frozen or refused, through no fault of their own.
That turns every payment you accept into a risk you can't check. Some coins end up worth less than others.
Coins with no visible past
On Coin, a coin's history can't be read. Ring signatures hide which coin was spent, stealth addresses hide where it went and RingCT hides how much it was. There's no trail for anyone to follow, so there's nothing to flag.
What that means for you
- When you're paid, you can accept the coins without wondering where they've been.
- When you pay, nobody can refuse your coins because of who held them before.
- A coin is a coin. Every one is worth exactly the same.
It only works if everyone has it
If privacy were optional, the private coins would stand out from the rest. That's why every Coin payment is private, with no transparent mode to opt out of. Private by default »
