Your balance stays yours
On many blockchains, anyone who knows your address can see what you own and every payment you've made. On Coin, your address gives nothing away.

There is nothing to look up: your address never appears on the blockchain.
Why it matters
On a transparent blockchain, the first time your address is linked to your name, through an invoice, a shop or a friend, your whole financial history becomes public. Your employer can see your spending, a shop can see your savings, and anyone you pay can see everyone else you pay.
How Coin keeps it private
Payments to you land at one-time addresses that can't be linked to yours. Amounts are sealed with RingCT. When you spend, ring signatures hide which coins were yours. Put together, there's no balance on the blockchain for anyone to add up.
Safe to share, safe to post
You can put your address on a website or a donation page. Nobody can count what it receives.
Show it only when you choose
Sometimes you need to prove something. You can show your incoming payments with a view key, prove one payment with a payment proof, or prove you hold at least an amount with a reserve proof. You decide what to show, and to whom.
