How COIN keeps a payment private
A public ledger remembers everything.
On a transparent blockchain, every payment publishes who sent it, who received it and how much moved. Anyone can follow the money, permanently.
Why privacy has to be the default »Coin hides who sent it.
Your wallet signs each input together with 15 other outputs taken from the chain. Anyone can check that one of the 16 signed. No one can tell which.
More about ring signatures »And who received it.
Every payment lands at a fresh one-time address that only the recipient can recognize. Your public address never appears on the chain, however often you share it.
More about stealth addresses »And how much moved.
Amounts are sealed in cryptographic commitments. A range proof shows the inputs equal the outputs without revealing a single value. Fees and blocks stay public, so anyone can still verify the chain.
