Prove your reserves

A reserve proof shows that a wallet holds at least a certain amount, without listing a single transaction. It's how exchanges and custodians can show they really hold their customers' coins.

Make a reserve proof

  1. Open Advanced > Prove/check.

  2. Leave Transaction ID and Address empty and enter the Amount to prove. You need at least that much unlocked in the account you have open.

  3. Add a message if you were given one, press Generate and send the proof with your address.

Check a reserve proof

Under Check Transaction, leave Transaction ID empty, enter the wallet's address and the message, and paste the proof into Signature. Press Check to see the amount it proves.

It reveals more than other proofs.A reserve proof includes the key images of the coins it covers, so whoever checks it can later tell when those coins are spent. Share reserve proofs only with people who need them.

Prove a little more, or a little less

The proof shows at least the amount you enter, not your exact balance. Enter the amount that's needed and nothing more.

Advanced: the command-line wallet
> get_reserve_proof all|AMOUNT [MESSAGE]

> check_reserve_proof ADDRESS SIGNATURE_FILE [MESSAGE]

Checks a proof someone sent you.
