Prove a payment

Paid someone and they say it never arrived? A payment proof shows that one transaction paid their address, and how much, without revealing anything else.

Make a payment proof

  1. Open Transactions and find the payment. Press its P button, Generate payment proof.

  2. Copy the proof the wallet shows you.

  3. Send the other person three things: the transaction ID, the address you paid and the proof.

You can also make one under Advanced > Prove/check: paste the transaction ID and the address you paid, add a message such as an invoice number if you like, and press Generate.

Check a payment proof

  1. Open Advanced > Prove/check.

  2. Under Check Transaction, paste the transaction ID, the address, the message if there was one, and the proof into Signature.

  3. Press Check. The wallet shows how much the transaction paid to that address and how many confirmations it has.

Make sure the address really is the one the payment was meant for. If a payment was split over several transactions, check each one.
