Send and receive COIN
To get paid, share your address. To pay, paste someone else's and press Send. Your wallet keeps every payment private for you.
Receive a payment
Open Receive. Your addresses are listed there, starting with your Primary address.
Copy the address, or show its QR code, and send it to whoever is paying you.
The payment shows up in Transactions. It's yours to spend after 10 blocks, about 20 minutes.
Tip: press Create new address to make a separate address for each person or purpose. They all pay into the same wallet, and nobody can tell they belong together.
Send a payment
Open Send. Your wallet needs to be synced, and the coins you want to send need to be unlocked.
Paste the address into Address. Check the first and last few characters against the address you were given.
Enter the Amount, or press Send all to send everything you can spend.
Leave Transaction priority on Automatic. A higher priority costs a higher fee and is rarely needed.
Press Send, check the details, confirm and enter your password. The wallet shows the transaction ID when it's on its way.
Payments can't be undone. Once a payment is in a block, only the person you paid can send it back. Check the address before you press Send.
- PendingSent to the network and waiting for a miner to put it in a block. This usually takes a couple of minutes.
- SentIn a block. The number of confirmations grows with every new block.
- ReceivedA payment to one of your addresses.
- MinedA block reward from mining. It unlocks after 60 blocks.
- FailedIt never reached the network, so the coins are still yours. Check your connection and try again.
Fees
The sender pays a small fee, which goes to the miner who puts the payment in a block. The fee depends on the size of the transaction, not on how much you send. A payment to several people at once pays one fee.
Why part of your balance is locked
New coins can't be spent until they're 10 blocks deep, about 20 minutes. That includes the change from your own payments: when you send, the rest of the coin you spent comes back to you as change and waits 10 blocks too. Your wallet shows both your total balance and the part you can spend now.
What the other side sees
The person you pay sees the amount they received. They don't see your address or your balance. Nobody else sees anything: the blockchain records neither of you, nor the amount.
