The genesis block
Every blockchain starts somewhere. Coin's first block dates from 20 October 2026, and it carries a short message.
Coin|
- CoinThe network's name.
- RandomX-v2The proof of work, used from the very first block.
- mainnetThe main network, where coins are real. Not a test network.
- 2026-10-20The day the network launched.
Why it matters
Every node starts from the same genesis block, and every block after it links back, one by one, to block 0. A node with a different genesis block is on a different network. That's what makes Coin its own chain: it shares Monero's code, not its history.
Since then
A new block has followed about every two minutes, each one checked by every node on the network.
